Whether it be design, construction or operation covering trunk, distribution or gathering systems, EDG has the experience and the answers

Over the last 25 years, EDG has accumulated extensive experience in all phases of pipeline design, construction and operation. EDG has performed all design disciplines for trunk, distribution and gathering system pipelines, pumping stations and terminals. Assignments have included market analysis, feasibility and optimisation studies, conceptual design, detailed engineering, materials procurement and field construction management.

Gathering Systems

Having been one of the pioneers in automating petroleum production complexes, EDG continues to offer design, engineering and construction management control of automated oil and gas systems which have not only been applied to relatively simple gathering systems, but also to two-phase flow, two and three-phase separation, slug catchers, metering and safety systems

Pipeline Control and Metering Systems

EDG has engineered many installations which are currently in service for liquid and gas flow measurement including meter proving facilities. Typically these installations have included the specification of SCADA systems, skid mounted metering packages, detailed design of the instrumentation, specification of control systems and flow data calculations, leak detection, mass balances, through to the upgrading of entire export metering complexes

Station and Terminals

EDG has designed, engineered and managed the construction of many pumping stations for crude oil and product pipelines. These have ranged up to large 6-unit stations incorporating 3,500 HP motor-driven pumps capable of delivering in excess of one million barrels per day.

Piping and Hydraulic Engineering

EDG has extensive experience in both the hydraulic and piping engineering disciplines involved in trunk pipeline and distribution systems. This expertise assures proper sizing of pipe and associated structural supports, advantageous site selection for mainline and booster pump stations, optimised pump size, proper selection of prime movers and energy efficient power generation and utilisation.
