EDG's proven experience in gas production and distribution over the last 25 years provides a solid base for future gas projects.

EDG's experience in gas production ranges from gas separation to gas compression, from LNG production to  underground storage, from feasibility studies to turnkey projects both in a consultancy and turnkey project rolls.

Typical examples of some of EDG's extensive experience is detailed below

EDG provided the design and construction for the Gas compression module for the Zulu Junction #1 platform in NW Java Sea in Indonesia.   EDG provides, amongst other items, the complete process engineering design, mechanical design, piping design, electrical design and instrumentation design for these turbine / compressor skids as well as the compressor lube oil skids and associated auxiliaries

EDG carried out the feasibility study for the control system upgrade for a gas pipeline complex in Qatar

EDG performed a feasibility study for the construction of a NGL plant for the use of "associated gas" from the 5,400 acre Council Hill project plus three adjacent fields of some 55,000 acres. Options for producing, treating and marketing the oil and gas were undertaken as well as three basic processes for the NGL plant; an expander system, a Joule-Thompson process and a refrigeration compression type. The two basic operating modes compared were for 90% C2+ recovery or 90% C3+ recovery.

EDG provided the engineering and design services for the construction of a compressor test stand for Stewart Stevenson at Jacintoport.  The test facilities were designed and constructed to provide the facility of testing natural gas turbine / compressor packages under full operating conditions.  The flow system was designed in a "closed loop" configuration to allow actual operating pressure to be achieved on each stage during turbine / compressor test.

On Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela, EDG supplied the design philosophies and detailed engineering of the structural, electrical, instrumentation, fire/gas detection, and SCADA systems for the Lagoven West Urdancta Gas Compression Plant for Dresser Industries, Energy Systems Division. The overall Lagoven complex is comprised of a control platform, four compressor platforms, and two utility platforms. Each compressor platform carries a 30,000 BHP Rolls Royce Turbine, driving a Dresser Clark three-stage compressor train. Under normal operating conditions, the combined gas turbine-driven compression modules were designed to compress 200 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day from 30 PSIG to 1810 PSIG.
