EDG extensive oil and gas experience led to an expansion into the chemical and petrochemical industries
|
EDG's experience in the oil and gas field has led to many projects in the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries over period of 20 years. Although initially these projects related to power generation and SCADA / DCS systems, EDG was soon conducting projects of a purely process nature.
EDG designed and installed three Anhydrous Ammonia Terminals, for Agrico Chemicals, comprising of a tank car unloading rack, a complex storage and measurement facility plus truck loading racks. EDG performed a feasibility study for the construction of a NGL plant for the use of "associated gas" from the 5,400 acre Council Hill project plus three adjacent fields of some 55,000 acres. Options for producing, treating and marketing the oil and gas were undertaken as well as three basic processes for the NGL plant; an expander system, a Joule-Thompson process and a refrigeration compression type. The two basic operating modes compared were for 90% C2+ recovery or 90% C3+ recovery. |
EDG's provided the detailed design for Nitrogen and Hydrogen recovery units for CF Industries which included the unit's compressors, gas treatment, heat exchangers and vessels, foundations, piping, electric lights, power and grounding. EDG provided a 90 ton fluid bed fertilizer unit for Foster Fertiliser. The unit consists of storage for dry and liquid ingredients, a bucked elevator, twin hoppers, mixing equipment, truck loading terminal and holding tank. EDG designed and delivered a UAN Solution Dilution System for a Collingwood-green's fertilizer plant which includes a control system with emergency shutdown facilities.
